A ROARING start for 2019 RESCUES
2019 is off to a ROARING start for rescues. Our Laos team rescued two moon bears (Laos Rescues #67 & #68) on February 18. We'd been fighting for 18 months to rescue these two! Watch our Facebook page for updates. Meanwhile in Cambodia, a young sun bear (Cambodia Rescue #205) and moon bear (CR#206) were rescued in January. They're recovering under the expert care of our Cambodian team.
Laos Rescue #66, nicknamed Mary Christmas, is on the road to recovery after she was almost lost forever to the illegal wildlife trade. Click to watch a moving video showing Mary's progress over the past 2 months. As with most of our rescued bears, Mary will require lifelong care. To help us provide this care, we need to build a base of regular donors. Please register as a monthly donor (even a small monthly donation can make a big difference to the bears).
2019 will be a busy, exciting and challenging year. The new Wildlife Hospital (Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary) and Vet Clinic (Cat Tien Bear Sanctuary, Vietnam) need equipment and, even with a new bear house in Laos completed in January, our sanctuaries in Vietnam and Laos require additional enclosures to house current and future rescues.
